The Adventures of Anna Banana- Month Three

Anna Lenee is three months old! I have been saying she has survived us...but...I am going to say we have survived her one more month! Oh my goodness being a parent is nuts!

Show of hands. Who here has had to change a baby in a restaurant changing room? Anybody? Well let me tell you, if you decide there is no other option BE PREPARED!!! Mom and I were at On the Border in Edmond for lunch on Saturday and Anna was with us sleeping in her car seat. Time came to go and she woke up. I knew she would need to be changed and mom suggested I change her in the bathroom since it was cold outside. Okay. I take my baby, I grab the changing pad, diapers, and wipes. We got this! I can do this! No problem. Yeah right. I lay out the changing pad, put Anna down and take her diaper off. As soon as I get the diaper off Anna pees. EVERYWHERE! Her clothes are wet, the changing pad is wet, and I didn't bring the diaper bag in the bathroom with me. At the On the Border in Edmond the changing table is close to the bathroom door. So I hold Anna with one hand and reach across the bathroom to open the main door. I yell for my mom. Yes, I yell. Through the restaurant comes the sound of a grown woman calling for her mother to come help her in the bathroom. Mom brings everything and I proceed to get Miss Anna back to working order. Go team!

During the course of her third month I read online that babies her age would show affection towards you by looking at you in the eyes and cooing at you. The day I read this Anna refused to look at me and didn't talk to me, but when TJ had her she just cooed and stared at him. I was sure she didn't love me! I need to stop reading things online. It just gets me in trouble!

Mom and I took our first road trip with Anna to Southeast Oklahoma where my grandparents cabin is. Our cousins are in the monument business and we were going to get some things finalized on Kaytie's stone. Anyways, this is a four hour trip and Anna did wonderfully, as long as Mimi sat in the back seat with her and entertained her. Anna got to meet her Great Great Aunt Mary and cousins Pansy, Allen, and Preston. Cute Aunt Mary wants to be called GG for Great Great which is adorable! They all just oooed and awed over her! I packed everything she could possibly need to for a two night trip. Bassinet, 10 outfits, pack of diapers, pack of wipes, baby bath tub, towels, all of our bottles, formula, nursery water, books, blankets, bouncy seat, bows, socks, etc. She needed all the comforts of home and she had them! It was fun getting to tell Anna about her Great Grandma Norma and Papa Frank and about how much fun we all had growing up down there.

Laughing at Pansy!

Hey! I'm cute!

Mimi, GG, and Anna

One of my most favorite things we did this month was go to a pumpkin patch! It was so much fun to show her all of the animals and take cute pictures of her. We went on a hayride and pet a bunny. She did such a good job. There was so much to look at and it got her attention pretty well. When she was ready to go though, she was ready to go!

Little Farm Girl!

She's done!

For Halloween we went trick or treating to Mimi's office and Papa's office. It was so fun! Miss Anna was a Banana! Duh! What else would the kid have been? She was so cute, but she absolutely HATED being a banana! :)

This was my last month home with Anna and on Nov. 5th I had to go back to work. It is so hard being a working mom! Trying to get her and I out of the house in the morning is crazy. Anna's Aunt Becky is watching her everyday for us so I drop her off there in the morning then head to work. I have to get up at the latest 5:30 if I am going to make it on time. I take a shower at night and drink tons of coffee! TJ gets Anna ready and we get out the door. I miss her so much during the day and I am so incredibly exhausted when I get home. I think I am more tired now than when she was first born! Once we get home she is getting sleepy about 7:30pm so I start our bedtime routine. I hate that most of the time she spends with me she is sleeping. :( How do working moms do it? Seriously, any tips would be great!

I love this baby!!!

Anna's Papa brought her this cute hat!!

Our sweet cousin Everly came for a visit! These sweet babies are growing so fast! It's so fun to have a little cousin the same age so they mommies can chat with each other about if something is normal or not!

OMG! They are so cute!

I thought Anna had a lot of hair, but compared to Everly, Anna is bald!

LOL! They want us to leave them alone!

Anna is the most amazing baby in the world! Really she is! Sorry other babies, my baby wins! :) I love that I am her mommy and that I am getting to know this amazing little girl full of personality. It is crazy to think just three months ago I had no idea who she was. She was just a baby in my belly at least to me she was. She wasn't Anna just yet. I love her more than I did the day she was born. I fall in love with her more everyday because I am learning who she is. I am learning what her cries mean and what makes her laugh and smile. It's so cool!

Anna's first day at Aunt Becky's and Mommy's first day back to work :(

Welcome Back Surprise at Work!

The sign on my door when I'm pumping!

Roses from TJ! He added a Monkey since Anna is a Banana!

This is just after I got her calmed down from one of her car ride meltdowns! We are in the parking lot at Pops!

I love being Anna's mommy and I can't wait to celebrate the holidays with her. She is our little light and love.

Karen, Kaytie's mom-in law, is going to be Anna's adopted Granny!

Our little bear!

Annie's first day at church!

ADORABLE!
Lesson's Learned/Anna's Stats:
  • Anna is learning to laugh! It's so cute and I think it kind of surprises her when she does it!
  • Our bedtime routine is so much fun! I give her a bath (wrapped in a blanket), get her ready for bed, feed her a bottle, Facetime Mimi or Papa, read a story if she is up for it and she is out!
  • We have started to transition to her crib. I think she really likes it. She sleeps the longest in there, but mommy is attached and still wants her in her room!
  • For two and a half months of Anna's life she was washed off in the bath with baby bath rather than baby shampoo! When I finally looked closely at the bottle it said to place one capful in the bath tub... Opps! Did I stop using it? Nope! I finished off the bottle! Her doctor said her skin looked great!
  • It's absolutely terrifying when you hear one of her toys make sounds and when you look around everyone is accounted for in the living room and the sound came from her bedroom!
  • Her daddy has to get her dressed in the morning while mommy gets ready for work! One day her daddy put mittens on her feet because he thought they were shoes and the next day he put her clothes on backwards!
  • Anna hates riding in the car if she doesn't have someone to keep her entertained. She cries all the way home from work most days. :( This results in me spending many hours in the Pops parking lot trying to calm her down.
  • SHE CAN ROLL OVER! Well at least from belly to back! It's so fun to watch!
  • Anna loves to smile and play!
  • I have spent more time googling "What does normal x number of weeks old poop look like" than I can keep track of!
  • Anna LOVES her to suck on her hands and drools all over the place! She also doesn't really care for her paci any more.

Stay tuned! Next month we have our 4 month photos, 4 month shots, Thanksgiving, and we are starting a new family tradition of cutting down our own Christmas tree!

See ya next time!
