Day 85-Oct. 24

We got our first wedding present in the mail while I was gone! It was so exciting! Thank you so much to the friends of TJ's that sent it. We love it and can't wait to bake lots of good food in them! :)

Mom and I got back from Colorado today! We had a super fun time! Now I have to get back to work and get 1000 things done before I take some time off for the wedding. I have a plan of attack and I just have to get it done and then I hope I'll be able to take some time off and NOT think about work. We will see! LOL!

Day 84- Oct. 23

This just in from Colorado Springs: Don't eat Mexican food out of a log cabin looking restaurant! Unless you enjoy bad service and strange food! So today mom and I did some sight seeing around the Springs. It was a fun day! We drove all over with Renee and her daughter Nicole. It was very fun. Our first stop was the Garden of the Gods! Beautiful! The fall colors were perfect and the sun was shining just right! I want to move here ASAP!
I made mom climb up to the balancing rock with me! It's not that high but she saw her life flash before her eyes!

Beauty.

The two cutest girls in the world! :)

So after the Garden of the Gods we drove to the base of Pikes Peak and found The NORTH POLE! So of course we had to go in! I love Christmas! Who knew that the North Pole was in Colorado! Ha! I really should re-address my letters to Santa!

When we left we drove around Manitou Springs. Then ended up walking around  in Old Colorado City. It is such a cute little town with fun shops to look at! Including a cute little Christmas Shop!

Mom was obsessed with all of the Scarecrows and made me take a picture!

Mom bought this for us at the Christmas shop! Too cute!
All in all the day was great and I have really enjoyed spending time with my mom! She is the best, hands down. The trip went too fast and tomorrow we head back home to our crazy hectic lives. Lucky for us in Oct. 2010 we got to get away for a few days of girl talk and fun! :)

Day 83-Oct. 22

So for the past few days me and mom have been hanging out in good ole Colorado Springs! We haven't done much other than relax at the hotel and that has really been fine with me! It's been so fun having mom just to myself! We have gotten to talk alot! I love it! She is really here for her work and today she was in meetings most of the day. Tonight we went to dinner with her entire group. We went to this place called Flying W Ranch.
It was an actual Ranch tucked back in the forest somewhere! We had a steak dinner where they served the beans in a kettle and the biscuits in a cast iron skillet! Then when we finished eating we watched a show where the Flying W Wranglers sang and entertained us! It was too cute!
It was super fun and I think this is one of the places the committee will vote on to go next year during their conference here.

I am really enjoying this time with my mom! I am so glad I got to come. Everyone keeps saying "Is this one last hoo rah before the wedding?" I would like to know what they are talking about! I can Hoo Rah all I want after I am married right? Silly people! LOL!

Mom and her committee group!

Oct. 19-Day 80

My shoes came in the mail today! THEY ARE SO AWESOME! The only thing is I am going to need to scuff them up on the bottom! They are super slippy! You don't have to ask me twice to wear them! Plus, they look cute with jeans on! I'll go walk around in circles in the driveway to get them ready. My neighbors already think we are weird, so they won't think twice about it! LOL!

I am on a managers team at work this year. Managers and Directors from all over campus come together in small groups to network and get to know different areas of campus. All of the small groups come together to meet once a quarter and work on team building etc. Today was our first large group meeting and each of the small groups played each other in a Rubber Chicken Volleyball tournament. Oh yes. You heard me. Rubber. Chicken. Volleyball! It's extremely fun and you don't have to be super athletic to play (ahem me!). After pool play and then bracket play our team went to play for the championship! And...WE WON! Woo Hoo! Go us! I don't think I have ever been the champion of anything (with the exception of State band competitions and at Drum Major camp!)! I was very happy for our team and let me tell you there is nothing like a little friendly competition to really get to know people!

Day 79- Oct. 18

I haven't blogged in a few days so I thought I would catch everyone up! Saturday Mom and I went dress shopping for her! It was fun! She wants to look stunning so we are going to continue our search. We did find some cute outfits though!
Sunday TJ and I just hung out at the house. It was a pretty slow night. We went to dinner with mom that evening.

Today was super busy at work. I had a meeting that ran late and TJ had to go to Del City for me! Then I walked home. Not typically a big deal but I got rained on! It was kind of funny. Since my car has not been working and the few times I have walked back and forth I have learned a few things. 1. College kids are weird! They will yell out at your from there car or try to pick you up! Really? Didn't your mother tell you A. not to talk to strangers and B. keep your arms inside of the vehicle. You might lose one. 2. I am really thankful I live so close to work. I am not sure when my car will be fixed!

Finally, Mom and I will be going to Colorado Springs on Wednesday! I am super excited. I like to hang out with my mom and I don't think I have ever been to the Springs not on a work visit! So yay!

The picture for today is of a cute martini glass I found Saturday while shopping around! It's a wedding one! It has a yummy sounding recipe on the bottom! I think it will be my glass of choice at the rehearsal dinner!

Day 75 -Oct 14

TJ and I decided we didn't want to do the sand or the candles for our unity ceremony. Candles blow out and sand...what do you even do with it after the ceremony? So I looked for something else and came across the Unity Cross. The man is represented by the outline of the Cross and the woman is represented by the more decorative piece. It comes in all different pieces and you put it together during the ceremony. It's probably bad luck that I put it together before! LOL! But, I wanted to see it!

On another note! I have been not feeling well AT ALL! I have had some awful stomach bug and I have eaten two meals in the last two days and they make my stomach turn! Boo! I am ready for it to pass! Plus, I had a fever and horrible headaches! I am feeling better but come on!

I am getting married in 51 days! I can't believe it!

Day 70- Oct. 9

So this is what I did last night and until about 3 today. The Olympic Experience down at the Oklahoma River. UCO did none other than...Sitting Volleyball! Woo Hoo! Thanks to all my co-workers and the couple of Team USA girls that came down to help!

On the wedding side of things! I am getting RSVP's in the mail and its super exciting. I LOVE mail! LOVE it! It's so fun to come home and find something in your mail or a box waiting on your porch! :)

Finally, I must must must clean my room. I have been avoiding it like the plague. I go in there look at it and then think of something else I could do! So my goal is to open my bottle of wine throw a couple back and clean my room! Boy what an exciting Saturday night! LOL!

Day 67- Oct. 6

Today was a fantastic day! I got my first RSVP! LOL! Yes I know I just mailed them Monday! But thanks to Danielle for bringing hers to work today! YAY! It made it all sink in! Its for real! Then I got the mail and look what else came:

My GARTERS! They are mossy oak camo and hot pink with a deer charm! It's the perfect mix of TJ and Leigha! It's a happy day!

To top it all off, I went to dinner with Kim and Kristen! We had a great time talking and enjoying delicious Mexican food from Ted's! Seriously, could this day be any better?

Day 65 - Oct. 4

Two months from today I am going to marry my best friend! I took this picture this morning at 3:30 am before he left for California for the week. He has an archery shoot/training camp there! Last night we were listening to music on his phone and he came across Canon in D. I looked at him and said "can you believe in two months you will be seeing me walk down the aisle to this?" He just smiled! I must say I am getting excited about being a wife. I hope I don't disappoint. I am excited about going through life together, both the good and tough times. I still haven't figured out where all of his stuff is going yet, luckily I will have a week or two to figure it out and get it all settled after we get married! :)

Day 62 - Oct. 1

Today started off AWFUL! While walking to work I stepped in a hole and twisted my ankle! Now its SWOLLEN! I limped all day and it sucked! As the day went on it got a little bit better. Mom and I met with a florist. She was super nice and I think she would do a lovely job. I meet with one more person tomorrow and I will let you know as soon as I pick! I have to say I am excited about the possibilities! :) After that mom and I went to dinner. We are in search of some fabric and stopped in at Micheal's and it turns out they don't have fabric! They did have these cute measuring spoons! Mom bought them for me. I will make all of TJ's brownies with love now!  hehe!

On another note, today was my Grandpa and Grandma Calfy's anniversary. I have been missing my grandma Norma like crazy lately and I wish she was here to give us her opinion on everything. I really wanted them both at the wedding. :( She always loved a good party! I ordered my in memory stuff for them today. I'll post a picture when it comes in. I think everyone will approve.

Tomorrow I am getting my hair dyed! I am looking forward to sitting in the chair and reading my book for a few hours!
