Minus 12.4!

Hello Blog World! I know, I know, I didn't blog last Sunday. I apologize! I have great news this week! I lost 4.2 lbs! I was shocked! I thought for sure I would have gained! I ate most of my extra points this week. I thought that would have caused me to gain, but I think it helped me lose since I have beefed up my activity! I am so happy! I have lost 12.4 since the 9th of January and 15.4 since I weighed at the doctors office in December. I am happy. I feel like I am on the right track and I am finally figuring this out. Now I just have to keep on going. This is just one milestone. I have many more, but I am confident over the next year I will just keep getting better and feeling better about my weight. I am so thankful for my supportive husband and great friends at work who are doing weight watchers with me! I have a great support system!

So what's going on in the Pemberton house you ask? TJ went out of town for a week and I managed to survive! I think he has found his calling in life! He really enjoyed coaching the Wounded Warrior Regime. If he could find a job along those lines, I am pretty sure he would be the happiest guy in the world!

I have decided to try this whole coupon craze. I am looking at the blogs and clipping coupons! I am starting with one store, Homeland. I will only buy items I have coupons for and that the blog tells me too! In fact I have clipped coupons tonight and I am going to venture out and try it this week! I will still buy regular groceries until I get more of a hang of this! Wish me luck!

Cheryl and I took a T-Tapp class this weekend. I am going to try and commit to doing the workout at least 3 times a week in addition to our regular workouts! It's only a 20 min workout so it shouldn't be too difficult to add into my routine. I may even do it right after I get home from work when I am still gross from the earlier workout. Don't worry, I am not going to become obsessed with working out, but I am going to become obsessed with feeling great!

In crazy news! Our house was raided by the police last weekend! Apparently, while TJ and I were wrapping up an archery tournament at the University, the police surrounded our house with guns and were banging on our door! The whole neighborhood was out watching all of this! Luckily our neighbors next door came and told them they have the wrong people and we weren't even home! The cops were looking for a guy named Robert or Russell or something! They showed our neighbors a picture of the guy and thankfully it wasn't TJ! LOL! When we got home they were like "Boy have we got a story for you!" LOL!

Never a dull moment around here! I'll check in next week! We have a bowling tournament for Big Brothers Big Sisters this coming weekend! If you would like to donate let me know and I will send you the info!

Talk to you later!

Weekly Weigh In 8.0

Hello World! I have officially lost 8 lbs since I first started WW Jan. 9th! I will take that! It's slow going as usual, but I like that my number is getting bigger. This week my goal is to work out more often. I got out of the habit during all of those snow days. So this week I am getting back on track. Cheryl my weight watchers buddy met her 5% goal today! It was super exciting! She ate some baklava this week, just two small pieces, and turns out it was 20 points!!!! I was shocked! So it was a nice recovery to get her 5% star this week! I can't wait to get mine. I have 5 more lbs to lose before I get mine. I told TJ that when I get my Britney Spears body I am going to dye my hair platinum blonde and make a music video! LOL!

In Pemberton news, TJ is in California this week coaching the Marines Wounded Warrior Regiment in archery. I think he is having a really great time. He is back at Camp Pendleton reliving the time he was there. This is the first time we have been apart since we got married. I was a little sad at first but I have enjoyed singing and dancing around our house without him around! I really bust out my moves when he is gone! LOL! AND our house stays cleaner longer when he is gone. I am ready for him to get though. I miss him!

TJ and I went to our first Thunder game this week! It was SO much fun! The atmosphere is amazing. We totally want to go to another game soon.

My dad came in to town this weekend. We all got together to celebrate Jacob's 21st birthday. We are all grown up now, well for the most part! We have all had a nice visit. He will be back in May for Miss Kaytie's graduation.

Until next week,
Leigha

It's a Snowy Wednesday!

So I didn't post my weight update on Sunday! I apologize! I lost a pound! Woo Hoo! I was wonderfully surprised given we had so many snow days in a row last week. The key is tracking I write it down even when I don't want to. Even if it gets ugly! LOL!

So other than continuing my Weight Watchers journey, I am sitting at home again with another snow day! I find myself less than impressed with this particular snow storm. 6 inches is nothing compared to the last two major snow storms in recent history (Dec. 2009 and Feb. 2011). I am ready for all of the snow to be done. I am over it! I need to get back to work and my routine! If I get used to taking a nap every Wednesday how will I ever be expected to get any real work done! :)

We got our wedding pictures this week. As I am sure any of my Facebook friends are aware. I posted them as soon as the mail man showed up with them! I also ordered a nice one to hang in our living room and now I am working on finishing up my 2010 scrapbook! The wedding was the only thing missing.

I won't be able to weight in on Sunday. I have to work all weekend so I will be posting my weigh in on Monday. They have a meeting here in Edmond at noon on Monday so Cheryl and I will be going then!

Talk to you all soon!

Weigh In and Wedding Pics!

So I made it through another week of Weight Watchers! I have to say Thank You to all of the encouraging comments I received. It's amazing how far kind words can take a person. I appreciate it. It meant a great deal! I lost 1.6 this week! That brings my total to -5.4! I got a star this week. It may sound silly to some but I was excited. On an even happier note I have lost 8.2 lbs since I went to the Dr. in December! Now I just have to keep working at this. I am sort of afraid what will happen when I gain some back, but I am confident that I will be able to recover and keep going. My attitude about all of this is so different than any time in my past. I am in a good place in my life to be getting healthy! I want to keep it up!

For all those out there doing Weight Watchers, Cheryl and I have found an amazing Point Plus friendly meal at On the Border. Check it out:

Pick Two Menu Option
Two Chicken Tostada's 2PP each
Side of Black Bean 4 PP
1/3 Basket of Chips and Salsa 4 PP
Grand Total (and full tummy) 12PP

For Mexican food that is not a bad deal! We love it and its a ton of food! Eat it I dare you!

In other news! We got our wedding pictures! Well at least the online view of them. We get the disc this week so I will be posting them to Facebook VERY soon! I know, I know, you all are dying to see them. You can't hardly wait. LOL! In case you want a sneek peak you can view them HERE (Click This) . You type in your email address and the password is 120410. I am in LOVE with them. They depict our day so well and I can't help but smile when I flip through them! Sigh what a great day! Cherish it people, next thing you know you are living with this guy who thinks its okay to tell you about his bodily functions! WHAT?!? Who are you and where is the man I thought I married! LOL! I still love him though!

Mom, Kaytie, and I had a girls day yesterday! We got pedicures and our nails done. Then we had dinner! LOVE my MOM! :)

Everyone stay warm and safe this week if you are in Oklahoma! It's supposed to get icy this week!

Talk to you later!

Weekly Weigh In!

Well weigh in this week was a little disappointing! I only lost 1.4. I am not one to take things slowly...(I say that but it took four years of dating TJ for him to pop the question!) I want big numbers not little ones! One lady lost 4.4 why can't I? I even worked out this week FOUR times! Slow and steady I guess is my theme. Here is to week 4! I hope I keep on this downward trend!

In other news. Not much is happening in the Pemberton household. I still haven't received my social security card with my new name on it. I am ready to be a Pemberton on all my documents and I can't hardly change anything without that new card.

Kaytie has moved  the rest of her stuff out now with the exception of her bed so we are going to start setting up TJ's man cave! It's a miracle! No more bows in the living room!

OH! I almost forgot the most important thing that happened this week! My sweet friend Kristen had her adorable twins! Avery and Macy made their grand entrance. They are so very sweet. I can't imagine how much fun the Bibbs' house is going to be as the girls grow up together. I apologized to the twins for all the mean things Madison was going to do to them in the future! Being a big sister I know first hand all the torture that a big sister inflicts on her younger siblings! hehe! Just between you me and the fence post I CAN'T WAIT for that time in our lives! It will be wonderful! But for  now I will just hold my friends sweet babies any time I get anxious! :)

Sisters are the best!

Weight Watchers

So I am changing my blog from a wedding blog to a Weight Watchers weekly blog/anything else going on in my life at the time blog!

I started Weight Watchers. I have been doing the online for one week longer than I have been going to meetings. Sunday, Jan. 9th was my first weigh in and yesterday was my second. I lost 2.4! I had to get over the disappointment of just two pounds. I know that is about average and I know that the idea of WW is to lose weight in a healthy manner and change your lifestyle. I just wanted to drop 5 or something! I got over it and I am proud of my 2.4 lbs its 2.4 closer to my goal! I am cautiously optimistic that I may follow through with this. I have started diets and exercise before only to fall short and burn out rather quickly. This will be my 3rd week of tracking and I must say I have documented everything. It helps that my friend Cheryl is going to the meetings and tracking as well.

My focus and mind set have changed. I am not looking at this as a diet, but rather a lifestyle change. I am making smarter choices and hopefully developing new habits. I am becoming more aware of the things eat and drink. I am not comfortable yet to post my starting weight. I will  though in time. For right now I am just using this blog to track my experiences as I work on a better me!

On a side note, TJ and I are settling in to married life! We are having fun annoying each other in so many ways you never think are possible until you live with someone! I must say though it is nice to come home to him in the evening. We have started cooking at home more. We used some of our wedding money to buy some really nice Emeril cookware and I must say, I really like cooking with nice pots and pans! I am still working making our house ours and not mine. It will just take time!

I bought tickets to Backstreet Boys this week! I must say I am so so so excited about it! Kaytie, Kim, and I will be venturing to Tulsa in July to see the best concert of all time! I found it interesting when I realized that it was over 13 years ago that Kaytie and I had the Boys plastered all over our room and I was madly in love with AJ! Then I felt OLD! 13 years!!! It feels like it was just yesterday! In honor of BSB I post this awesome video... You can bet I will be one of thousands of screaming women when they come out on stage! I may even faint! LOL!

Thats all for now!

Happy New Year!

Well everyone, it's 2011! We made it! 2010 was a heck of a year for me from planning a wedding to a crazy busy year at work. It was non stop all the way up until we got back from our honeymoon! 2010 was a great year. I had so much going on and so much to plan for that I am nervous about 2011. For the first time in a while, I don't really know what to expect for this year. It may just be a normal year. If there is such a thing? My goals for this year are these:

1. TJ and I will focus on our marriage and becoming the people we are meant to be together. This year will determine whether or not TJ will go to London in 2012. This event will be our fork in the road. If he goes we will be on one path, if he doesn't we will be on another.

2. I want to be healthy. Not skinny, not a certain size or what not just healthy. It's not a new years resolution rather a life resolution. This scares me. I am afraid of failure. So many times I try to start workout programs or diets and I fail. I don't follow through. I need to change my mind set. I am great at doing things for other people. In fact I love it. I like to do things for those close to me! I am not so great at doing things for  myself (being healthy). So I am going to look at it as I am doing this for the future little Pemberton's that will be running around one day! I don't want to put my future unborn baby at risk because I didn't take care of myself. My mom had preeclampsia and had to be on bed rest for a bit while pregnant with me. That is scary and I don't want that to happen and if it does I want to know I did what I could to prevent it. So cheers to being healthy! And for all those that are freaking out about all the baby talk...calm down the plan is for 2013, any time before would be disastrous!

3. I want to get my house organized! I am going to work on making my house our home. As of today we are staying where we are at the moment until we find out about London. So I am going to try and make this place as homey as possible combining mine and TJ's things! While there is a clash of style (hunting/outdoors vs. anything but that) I think I will be able to make it work! TJ will have a man cave and I will work on the making the rest of the house reflect both of us!

I think that is enough for one year. We are going to start fresh and move forward. There are so many exciting things to look forward to and this year is going to be our prep year.

Enough fooling around! I have to clean my house and get ready to get back to work tomorrow!
