So here I sit. The craziness of the wedding has past and TJ and I are preparing to head to Galveston to set sail on our Honeymoon Cruise. Believe it or not this is the first time TJ and I have been on a vacation together that does not involve archery or work somehow! I don't know if anyone is interested but I wanted to document that wedding week before I forget it all. So here it goes!
Monday, Nov. 29-
Sunday I sent a schedule of the week to Mom and TJ to keep them on task for the week. Monday things got off to a rocky start. Rather than going to get our marriage license, TJ stayed home and continued to work on my Mustang. The clutch has been out this whole time and now we really need two cars! I went downtown to meet with the DJ. We worked out all of the music. I then headed to Shelly's house with a car full spray paint and flower pots! I helped her set up the tree centerpieces. I got to use spray foam which was WAY fun! After leaving the trees in Shelly's care I headed to Alfred Angelo to get my dress from alterations. I had the top changed to a sweetheart and the bussell put in. Well I LOVED it and it fit perfectly, EXCEPT the bussell was way off and my mom was having a fit! So they called the alterations lady in and she promised it would be done by the next day! Mom and I went to eat at Mimi's for dinner to drown our sorrows in muffins! LOL!
Tuesday, Nov. 30-
Tuesday Mom and I went to eat at th Tea Room here in Edmond! It was so fun a girlie! We were going to have a girls day!
We had Blue Sapphire tea and the Wedding Blend! How appropriate! After tea and lunch we headed to our spa day! TJ bought us a gift certificate last Christmas and we waited until now to use them! Oh my! Amazing!!! I want a massage every Christmas! It was wonderful and I had never had one until then! After the massage we had a spa pedicure! It was all so nice. The place was quite and had relaxing music and you just felt good! So wonderful! After the spa day TJ came to pick me up and we headed to the court house to try once again for the marriage license. Well we go there after 4pm and they said Sorry come back the next day! Okay so no marriage license. TJ took me to Alfred Angelo where I met my Mom. We tried on the dress and this time it was perfect! YAY! I can't remember if we went to dinner that night...darn. I do know that TJ and I practiced dancing to our first dance song. I Cross My Heart by George Strait. He picked it! :) He said the song reminded him of me. Sigh. Well I am a horrible dancer! LOL!
Wednesday, Dec. 1-
LOL! Cover your eyes if you don't want to know this but! Mom and I headed to Norman and I got waxed...
Then we went to the cake place to drop off the cake topper and accessories! We ordered the rehearsal dinner food and found our kissing mistletoe at a specialty shop! Russell, the best man, came in and he and TJ headed to Texas to pick up a car Russell had bought! Other than that I cleaned house because my dad would be arriving that night.
Thursday, Dec. 2-
TJ, Russell, and I headed downtown to get our marriage license. Finally! It was a miracle we got it! The lady told us to raise our right hand and read us our rights and we said I do. TJ asked what all she said and the lady responded basically that you are not crazy and are not related! LOL! We all took a quick stroll through the Bass Pro shop then headed back home. Mom came over and we went grocery shopping for the weekend. We were all going to stay in a huge house near the venue. After the grocery shopping I met up with Jacob and we went to see Harry Potter! I loved it! I cried! I can't wait to see the next one! We went to the Warren and I drove my car. Well my car has a super sensitive clutch...and it was life and death trying to get home and back and I pretty much was exhausted when I got home. I had to finish the DVD of me and TJ and none of the computer programs I had would let me make a DVD. So about mid night I just broke down and bought one online. It finally started to burn. YAY! Well around 2 am I went into my bathroom to take out my contacts and the light flicker and go out. My bedroom, the living room, the cable, and the front porch were all with out electricity. I flip the breaker box over and over and nothing happen. Commence the nervous break down. I am exhausted my bedroom is pitch dark, the next day is the rehearsal and I have to pack. So I lay in the living room floor and sob. It felt like the end of the world. I have a routine and I was upset that the last night in MY bed by MYSELF I would have that routine. I made it work and went to bed crying.
Friday, Dec. 3-
I wake up first thing and call my landlord. I am pretty sure I made them feel bad because I was in near tears on the phone. Then I called my mom to see why she was running late. I needed to tan, get my nails filled, and my toes redone. She was all chipper and I broke down and cried then too! LOL! She finally gets to the house and Kaytie was upset because we weren't running on her schedule. We finally get those 3 things done and Mom and I get some lunch at McAlisters. Mom is laughing saying that nothing could be perfect but I still didn't find it too funny at the time! After lunch we head back to the house. I need to pack and print a few pictures and Mom needed to get the groceries out of my fridge. TJ and Russell came over to get all the wedding decoration boxes. It was who knows what time and I still needed to shower. The landlord was here testing outlets so I had to wait until he left to start getting ready. We were supposed to be at the rehearsal at 4pm. At 4:10 driving down the turnpike I received text messages from Shelly and Kristen saying they were running late. A call from my dad saying he was running late and a call from TJ saying he was running late and the tux place messed up their order! OMG!
We all get there about 4:30pm and have the quickest rehearsal EVER! I don't even know if any of us knew what we were doing! Bobbi gave out little slips of paper on what to do so I think a few people got the idea!
Finally, its dinner time! We all head to this huge house where we all are staying. We have BBQ for dinner! My mom did a great job of getting it all together. The house was filled with family and friends there for us! It was all so nice! The night was long and crazy, so by midnight I was ready for a bath. This place had an awesome tub so I filled it with stress relief bubble bath and soaked for awhile. Finally to bed! Oh I forgot to mention that I had some strange design painted on my nails at the nail place because I couldn't understand the lady!
Saturday, Dec. 4- The Big DAY!
I got up kinda early. The hair lady was going to be there at 10 am. My nerves are good I am just a little tired. I got to take a shower and realize that the shower is a steam shower!! This extended my shower by about 20 min! My shower was amazing. I put some stress stuff in the steam and wow! Stephanie (the hair lady) showed up and I wasn't even out of the shower! So I got out and threw on some clothes and she got to work! I was basically confined to my room all day since TJ wasn't supposed to see me. So my mom had to bring me water and breakfast! It's not everyday that you get waited on! My hair was finished and then she did mom's. It turned out really cute. I didn't have anything to do for about two hours. The make up lady wouldn't get there until 2 pm. I had lunch and was doing okay until about 1:30. I started to pace! My nerves were getting the best of me! Veronica and Kaytie got their make up done first so I had even more time to wait! I was getting so antsy! I was excited and nervous all at the same time. Then my phone rings. They can't find the fabric to cover the arch. I am afraid I left if at the house. I start to panic and send Kaytie to Hobby Lobby to buy some. The photographer arrives as I am freaking out! I wanted to cry and I had to get my make up on. Finally mom calls back and says they found something that will work. After my make up is done Kelly (the photographer) wants to get a few pics of me at the house in my dress. So we take a couple then I change back out of it and head to the venue. I got to the brides room and wait for TJ to get there so we can see each other for the first time. I start to tear up and Kaytie had to get the tears out of my eyes so I wouldn't mess up the make up. Finally, Kelly calls me out and I walk up behind him and tell him to turn around. He pretty much thought I was beautiful! :) We had a few moments of crazy nerves and little kisses then we got right into pictures! Okay so a whirlwind of pictures happen then I head back to the bride room to wait to walk down the aisle. We are waiting and waiting and Kaytie starts to cry then I start to cry. We finally line up down the hall and wait for the music. I start to tear up some more and Shelly tells me to think of something funny...think...think! So I say Sheeps Penis! Shelly bet me a hundred bucks when we were in China that I wouldn't eat fried Sheep's Penis from a street vendor! I did! So this is what we are all thinking about and saying right before we walk down the aisle. The girls go and it's finally my turn. I hang on to Dad and head down the aisle to the rest of my life. He is there and its perfect. Bobbi (his mom and our officiant) starts to tear up and gets it together. We say our vows and mean them with all of our heart, exchange rings, and do our unity ceremony. It was amazing.
The rest of the night was just plain fun! We danced, visited with friends and family, cut the cake, took pictures in the photobooth area, ate candy from the candy bar, and just had fun! It was magical and perfect. The crowd was thinning and the limo hadn't arrived yet so we did a fake good bye! It was funny! We kept running back and forth through the bubbles going nowhere! HA! Finally as mom and family started to pick up the DJ played one last song. It was Norah Jones, The Nearness of You. TJ and I went out there. We danced. Norah means a great deal to us. We have listened to her from the beginning of our relationship. She in a way defines us. We danced and there was no one else in the world but the two of us. I get teary thinking of it now. We have never been more in love than in that moment.
Our limo finally arrives and we head out. The guy was so nice and drove us through the Yukon Christmas lights! It was so fun and comfy sitting back there with TJ. We couldn't stop smiling. It was more than we dreamed and we were finally Mr. and Mrs. Pemberton. What was funny is it felt so normal. Like why did we wait so long!
We got to the Waterford and torn into the mini burgers. I had gone all night with out messing up my dress and then spilled ketchup on it at the hotel! It was funny!
We spent the next two days ordering room service and enjoying each other! On Tuesday we turned in our marriage license and made it legal!
It was amazing and perfect. I can't wait to get our pictures back because I want see it all and again and again. It won't be a day I will ever forget. As time goes on and we hit those rough patches that all married couples do we have some amazing memories of where it all started to get us through.
Now we are on to the Honeymoon! I am sure I will be able to fill the blogosphere with our many adventures when we get back! Stay Tuned! This is not the last you will hear about the Pembertons!
For now enjoy some pics from the year of preparing for the Wedding!
